Hello, from Santa Fe, NM
Hello and welcome to Santa Fe Senior Fit. My name is Gary Schneider and I want to help you get fit, healthy and be your best. Santa Fe is a great destination for hiking, skiing, cycling and exercising. There are many active seniors and tennis athletes that call Santa Fe, NM home and I can see why. We have beautiful mountains, a ski basin and thousands of hiking trails. We also have a active tennis community with several clubs and a new state of the art tennis facility opening this summer.
You can google how to do an exercise and find people showing you...some correctly, some not. Many of these people are not certified personal trainers. They don't show you how to progress or what works for endurance, strength, mass and/or power. I do. I am certified in personal training and nutrition from NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine). I will show you how to correctly do the exercises and with the proper technique.
I specialize in using progressive training programs designed specifically for seniors and tennis athletes ranging from stabilization endurance up through power training, and using different apparatus such as kettlebells, ViPR, medicine balls, steel mace and more. You can print out my training programs to take to your gym or the court, or I can personally design one for you in a personal training session. Each week, I add new videos and write a weekly blog on fitness and nutrition geared toward seniors and tennis athletes. I hope you will subscribe today, Thank you!

My Story - Gary Schneider
I became certified in personal training for several reasons. One, for my own personal fitness and health, and to learn about nutrition and the human body, including the nervous, skeletal, muscular, and cardiorespiratory systems. Second, I want to help seniors and tennis athletes maximize their fitness and overall health. I myself am 66 years old and play tennis and can still do the activities I did 30 years ago. I want to help you get fit, healthy and at your best so you can do the same.
I have played sports all my life and enjoy staying fit and healthy. I have worked out for over 35 years and still exercise 5 days a week, play tennis 3 days a week on average, and am also a musician, so I get a lot of daily activity in my life. I remember my first time to workout back in my high school days. I was doing a lat machine pulldown and said "what does this workout?" I was fit but naive. I didn't start to workout till my late 20's. While I was doing my regular job back then, I would play basketball at lunch at a local club. When I moved to Houston, there wasn't a place near my work to play, so a friend encouraged me to go to a gym nearby. So I did, and I was hooked. I really got into working out. I bought the Muscle & Fitness magazines and learned all I could and have worked out since.
Since then, my 45 minute workouts include free weights, stretching, core & balance and some plyometric and SAQ (speed, agility and quickness) drills. I also change up my workouts frequently and use different modalities as well.
Exercise has so many benefits to your overall health and fitness, and it is proven to help you live longer and better. I hope my custom exercise and training program videos can help you reach your fitness and health goals. Let's get started!
