Assessment Process
Assessments are vital to help determine your current health and fitness level and to understand your goals, requirements and motivation for starting a training program. This gives me the feedback to develop the right training program just for you. There are up to 4 assessments I perform for seniors. The first 2 assessments are geared toward seniors and all 4 assessments for the more athletic.

1
Pre-Participation Screening
This assessment has 3 components; 1. Lifestyle & Health questionnaire for goals, past injuries, current issues such as having osteoporosis or hypertension, 2. Physiological assessment if desired- resting heart rate and blood pressure and 3. Body composition measurements if desired - BMI, circumference and body fat.
2
Postural/Movement Assessments
These are assessments to determine posture and movement, and where you might have overactive muscles and underactive muscles. Overactive muscles you want to strengthen and underactive muscles you want to stretch. A movement assessment is designed to assess dynamic posture, core stability and neuromuscular control of the body.
3
Cardiorespiratory Assessment
For the more athletic I do a cardiorespiratory assessment which may include a walk test, step test or talk test while on a seated rower.
4
Performance Assessments
Performance assessments are typically used for clients looking to assess and improve athletic performance. They measure overall strength, muscular endurance, power and agility.
